10 years ago today - the Sunderland City 10k was my first race of the year. I ran 10ks, Half-Marathons and Marathons most weekends for the next few years

A lot has changed since, and cancer means I’m not running at the minute - but I’ve still got races to run.

Good to see the Rebel Alliance now have 14.

They’ll be celebrating extra hard in The Mos Eisley cantina tomorrow.

In my 20s: I’m going to have a sambuca to go with my pint of snakebite. Actually I might set fire to it.

In my 40s: I’m going to have some fruit and granola with Greek yoghurt. Actually I might have some honey on it.

My anti-sickness tablets are working hard today.

I’m 4 years into what was a 5 year prognosis. While the cancer is still stable - treatment has got the better of me this last year or so.

I’m not giving up though, and have fundraising challenges planned for my next treatment breaks. Watch this space.

I know it’s nearly May but these feel Christmassy.

Nearly 45 years on this earth, I’ve had very responsible jobs, I am raising good well rounded children, I’ve managed cancer for four years now, climbed mountains, ran marathons and much more.

But have I learned to chop chillies without then rubbing my eyes?

Can anyone tell me what the yellow thing in the sky is? Any information on the mysterious blue patches is also welcome.

Hopefully it’s back to grey soon, I’m feeling very unsettled.

Hopefully it stops raining long enough for us to notice the new rain.

It’s now nearly three years since I ran the London Marathon.

I was raising money for Children with Cancer UK and was over the moon to be featured in the BBC Sport Coverage.

In Stoke today for a gymnastics competition.

Spent this morning at Newcastle Airport filming as a car park attendant for a commercial.

I won’t say what the commercial was for, but I will say they’ll be over the moon there’s now a Mackem in it.

I’m doing a course on Mental Health, and an exercise is asking for examples of things that cause me stress.
