Spent the last two days at New York University with Juliana Bidadanure, revising our entry on Egalitarianism for the Stanford Encyclopedia in Philosophy. It's almost fully cooked (and as am I, given the scorching New York heat)
Most take for granted that wealthy countries are permitted in refusing permanent entry to migrants from poorer countries. A reason often given is "freedom of association" or "associational autonomy". This (now published!) paper shows why that doesn't work: journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.1086/73…
