To doubt is to question, to examine. To doubt is attempt to truly understand. Khalil Gibran says, “Doubt is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother.” This collection of songs still ring true in my heart and soul.

Folks, unless you are talking about a meta-eschatological sense; the best may in fact, not be to come.

There is no promise of perpetual blessing on individuals, churches, institutions or nations.

God’s discipline can happen..
Fear God, walk in humility, eyes on Jesus alone.

Stop expecting America to be the kingdom of God, and stop defending it like it is.

It’s just a country,
with both beauty and brokenness.

Seek first the kingdom of heaven.

Colossians 3 : 1-4 folks.

This is a FACT! Which is why Christians should re-think their relationship with cancel culture. My wife has actually been making me think A LOT about this lately.

Since the move on Social Media among Jesus followers is a struggle to parse out the phrase from the BLM movement; there's a few nuances to consider lest we force an unnecessary binary in our dialogue.

#1 - Is the phrase 'Black Lives Matter' true?

Being conservative or progressive on every single issue is intellectually lazy & unfaithful. Critique and push back on these flawed ideologies.

Make conservatism sympathize & pursue racial justice.

Make progressivism acknowledge absolute truth & the sanctity of life.

Now for the hard part of ending racism.
I have this neighbor across the street.
A white man in his 70’s.
In 4 years of living here, he’s never spoken to me...
Today that changed.

Protests change policies...
Conversations change communities...
Both are important.

It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me, but it can restrain him from lynching me.

- MLK

Let this quote—in its profound simplicity—shape our Christian witness in matters of public policy.

I have found that one of the most important pastoral tasks that must be regularly repeated in pursuing racial justice is defining and redefining these 2 words:

• gospel
• racism

If we get these two words wrong, everything else is bound to fail.

If you are so tired of hearing about racism, imagine how tired people must be of experiencing it.

The Good Samaritan story is not just an example of compassionate spirituality. It is a critique against religious passivity.

If “church people” won't work for justice and mercy, God will find some other people who will.

Just a reminder that self help antidotes & feel good/soul stirring phrases will never bring you true freedom.
They are great bandaids. And sometimes bandaids are necessary.
But only the full work of the cross and power of the resurrection will bring lasting and true freedom.
