Red squirrels are one of our most treasured creatures. It's rare we see a glimpse of warm russet fur and a striking silver-white bottlebrush tail in our treetops. Less than 160,000 are left across the UK. We must save them for future generations! ๐ฟ๏ธ๐ฒ #RedSquirrelAppreciationDay

Preface by Stephen Trotter , a kick off chapter on pine martens Josh Twining & David Tosh followed by a red squirrel conservation freight train of amazing work by volunteer groups. And its all going to be free!
Trail cameras are helping volunteer groups monitor their local squirrel populations, and for the Selkirk and Ale Water Red Squirrel Group it's looking like a positive start to 2021! #ScottishBorders
Good news to start 2021 off with the spotting of a red squirrel on a trail camera in woodland with few positive sightings in the last few years. And no grey squirrels appearing on any of the 3 cameras in the wood which is also good news. #saveourReds #redsquirrels
A tremendous hour spent with Jim Higgins and his red squirrels in Newcastleton today. What a privilege to see these beauties so close up.
