In May, we celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time dedicated to honoring the richness and diversity within the #AANHPI community. Together, let's strive towards fostering a more inclusive nation for all.

My day was filled with visits from teachers who support teachers. Met with Kate Dias Connecticut Education Association (CEA) about policy priorities, educator pipelines, support for public education, retired teachers and student success. Humbled to still be considered a fierce advocate for the profession.

Thank you to Acting Secretary Julie Su for your testimony and for DOL's commitment to federal policies that promote safe and healthy working conditions & pipelines for employees, and collaborative partnerships with employers.

Early morning on the greenway to support my friend State Rep Geraldo Reyes Jr as he finished the last 2 miles of his 60 mile trek in April to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Humbled by his strength, courage and advocacy for all effected. Encouraging our men to get screenings

Ensuring worker safety is a national priority. On #WorkersMemorialDay , we pay tribute to those who lost their lives on the job and reaffirm that every worker should have the basic right to a safe work environment.

The submissions are in! CT-05 students have submitted a record 245 art pieces for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition. All artwork will be on display at a special exhibit hosted by the Mattatuck Museum in #Waterbury through May 5th.

ICYMI: I visited the Plymouth Water Pollution Control Authority to get a first-hand look at the operation and see how the $959,752 in Community Project Funds I secured will assist in their phosphorous reduction efforts.

I met with CHFA Rocky Hill to discuss the growing housing crisis and ways we expand access to housing in CT-05. We have to pursue multiple approaches to ensuring everyone has a safe place to call home.

Our District staff collaborated with Statewide Legal Services of Connecticut to learn about efforts to provide free legal services to low-income individuals.
