Look! I won a Florida Book Award! I’m this year’s recipient for the Ensley Developing Writer Award, an award that acknowledges writers who have promising careers ahead of them. This state has many accomplished authors, so I’m sure competition for this award was stiff.

“All good writers have to be a little delusional, or else this industry can feel like a grind,” is something I said at the beginning of an Important Conversation today. I don’t know if it’s true, but it really prepared him for my Elle Woods attitude toward writing.

I went to a musical for the first time in a long while. I need more excuses to dress up!

I wrote about 2,000 words today and FINALLY finished a short story. It’s the first one I’ve written in three years. Now I just need to polish it before sending it to my agent.
