A lovely reader told me yesterday that QUEEN OF NONE was one of her top ten books of ALL TIME and my brain does not know what to do with that information other than, I dunno, cry?

One of the hardest things to explain in terms of perfume is when you are wearing a perfume that you like, but it doesn't feel like you smell like yourself.

There's nothing wrong with this scent I'm wearing. It's lovely. I'd love it on someone else. But I don't feel like me.

It is what its name says. This is what an opium den might smell like and, predictably, I love it.

The vanilla is bougie, and it's gorgeously wrapped in pink peppercorn. Then comes the cognac, followed by cherry finish.

Today's #fragrance is Flame and Fortune by Sarah Baker. The opening is floral tuberose smokiness. The ginger & pink pepper have intensified the longer I've worn it. There are even hints of motor oil, orange blossom & apricot, anchored in labdanum w/a whiff of mezcal. Addictive.

Just received an email written entirely in Comic Sans.

Clearly Friday woke up and chose violence.
