Rain is off to a slow start across the south due to some dry air at the surface. However, rain will begin over the next several hours, spreading north and east throughout the day. Heavier rainfall will stay south of the Highway 2 corridor until the afternoon hours.

Rain will push through the region from southwest to northeast today. The heaviest rain will fall in the southern Red River Valley. There is a low chance that west central Minnesota sees a strong thunderstorm develop. Rain ends by early Thursday.
