My parents left half an hour ago with my 10 year-old for a weekend away. I've just looked out the window and spotted my 10 year-old's suitcase in our driveway. Needless to say they're on their way back!

Reached a new milestone today: my 10 year old has stolen my jeans to wear to the dress down day at school. I should be flattered that my jeans are still considered stylish enough for her! 🤣

Plans are already underway Children's Hospices Across Scotland to celebrate the 850 volunteers who support our services. We're looking forward to getting involved in the 40th anniversary of Volunteers Week.

Volunteering participation in Scotland has declined for both adults and young people. The last thing we should be considering right now is introducing fees for people to give their time to support some of Scotland's most vulnerable groups. news.stv.tv/scotland/plans…

Spending my child-free Saturday afternoon applying for new afterschool childcare as Aberdeenshire Council have decided to close all out of school care from July. 🤬 🤯

Such a lovely afternoon spent celebrating the Children's Hospices Across Scotland Gordon Friends. Members past and present came along and we got a chance to see photos from across the groups 25+ year history.

Treated to the Northern Lights again tonight on our easyJet flight home from Iceland.

Iceland treated us to an absolutely spectacular show of the Northern Lights on our very first night. They were visible for over 2 hours.

Pure adrenaline definitely wakes you up. My alarm didn't go off this morning. Despite having just 30 minutes to get showered, dressed and the car defrosted, I managed to make myself a coffee and breakfast and made it to the station in time to to catch my train. #winning

Off to speak to my 10 year old's class today about working for Children's Hospices Across Scotland as part of their World of Work topic. Looking forward to all the questions.

It's been a tad chilly up here in the North East of Scotland. This was the fountain Meldrum House this evening. It looks like Elsa's been let loose!

10 year old was about to head out in the snow when we discovered that she'd left her snow boots at school. Of course she has! She's stolen my walking boots and will have to make do.

So much snow. School is off again. I'm wearing about 14 layers and will not be moving from under my blanket today!

Its one of those mornings where I feel like I've run a marathon before I've even started work: made macaroni cheese from scratch for daughter's packed lunch, did the school run, dropped the car at the garage and walked home. I did spot this beauty on my way home though.

My 10 year old spent 4 hours in the kitchen making this cake today. I provided moral support and a dishwashing service!

We have a new member of the household...meet Phoebe. After over a year of asking for a hamster, our 10 year old is absolutely in love. The cat is less so.

Yesterday we were complaining that it didn't feel like Christmas because it wasn't cold enough. This morning we've woken up to a decent dusting of snow. Glad it waited until the holidays had started.
