We combined TraDIS and metabolomics to identify new genes required for growth in human urine by multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli ST131 in a study led by Minh-Duy Phan in collaboration with Ulrike Kappler and Horst Joachim Schirra journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb…

Schembri Lab says a mutation helps affected bacteria spread in the body, a finding that could help fight antibiotic resistance.

Very excited to share our work on NMEC led by Nhu Nguyen (under review by eLife). We highlight that even with appropriate antibiotic treatment, causative NMEC that resides intestinally might not be eliminated and can cause relapse.
