Talk about full circle, real world learning. Erin Wallace and I were brainstorming ways to enhance the EL curriculum this year. Next, we met our community partner who taught us about Guatemala and his work with the Peace Corps. We learned about the quetzal, an endangered bird.

We had to have some Derby fun! We read a book about Seabiscuit and got to watch his race from the 1930s. We also made the connection that the author also wrote City Hawk which is a story we have read this year. It’s about Pale Male, you should ask your student about it 😉🏇👒
