🚨Important update from Muzaffarabad

All the demands of Awami Action Committee have been met by AJK govt and notifications have been issued. AAC has called off the protests and asked people to return to their homes now.

Govt exhibited the maximum possible restraint today but there is need to restore the writ of state and to protect the public and private properties and lives from these miscreants at any cost. This madness has to end. May the sanity prevail.

A DSP of AJK Police was taken hostage by the public in the Muzaffarabad which led to another serious clash between the police and the miscreants. Despite getting the notification, protestors kept marching towards Muzaffarabad. Later, after 6pm protestors started..

Despite govt agreeing to all main demands, AAC refused to call off the protest and they surrounded the AJK secretariat and attempted to enter. During the same time, some miscreants in Lohar Gali near Muzaffarabad pelted stones at 2 vehicles belonging to Rangers and torched them

Till then, things were normal and govt as well as public observed restraint. Simultaneously, PM Shehbaz Sharif convened a meeting of Pak's cabinet which was attended by PM AJK and his cabinet in Islamabad. PM announced a relief package of PKR 2300 crores for AJK.

For all those who are concerned regarding today's situation in Muzaffarabad, let us enlighten you with some of the facts. Agreeing to the main demands of Awami action committee, govt notified the historic reduction in electricity price and flour price.

Anything else shared, promoted or made viral is fake and false. There is no such demand for separation from Pakistan as peddled by the Indian Media.

Here is the charter of demands of AJK's protestors:

1- No property tax, income tax or GST to be applicable in AJK
2- Completely Free Electricity
3- Subsidies on 48 items of daily use
4- Perks of Govt officials to be ended
5- AJK Bank to be converted into scheduled bank

No Indian flag has ever been hoisted anywhere in Azad Kashmir. India's touts are posting edited photos to peddle their propaganda. Original video from the protest venue are attached. People are simply protesting against inflation like it happens anywhere else in the world.

I saw that you sort of equated civil liberties of IoK with AJK. Let's take an example of the recent anniversary of your Maqbool Bhat. Bhat's anniversary was observed in all cities/towns of AJK but in IOK not a single person was allowed to observe Bhat's anniversary. (1/n)
