Saying that you’re against systemic racism as you fight to keep kids in systemically racist schools is nuts.

Things you don’t hear: I’m against the Section 8 voucher program because it takes money away from the public housing projects. I’d rather ppl be warehoused in government buildings than offered the opportunity to live in the best housing for them.

If you’re against k-12 vouchers, I want you to keep that same energy and fight against loan forgiveness, increased student financial aid, the GI Bill, section 8, universal healthcare and pre-k, every single American successfully or proposed voucher program.

Those still fighting against parents’ rights, the science and practice of education can’t possibly think that America is going to go backwards to a time where kids could only go to school in their racially and economically limited district.

No sane person says that financial aid, a voucher, is ‘taking money’ form public colleges bc most sane ppl know that’s just dumb. Sooooo, if college vouchers improve kids’ chances of earning a degree, it’s kinda hard to argue against k-12 vouchers.

Schools are funded “per pupil.” When the taxes that were collected per pupil go to the school the child attends, that’s called justice.

Zip code assignment IS discrimination. Data and the Supreme Court established this. Vouchers, regional and or non zip code schools like charter, magnet & votech, solve school segregation. Blaming the solution for the problem is like blaming lifeboats for sinking the Titanic.

Picture me feeling like I'm 'included' bc I got an African American studies course approved in a school where almost none of the teachers are Black.

How bass akwards is the silly argument against for inherently racists zip code discrimination by Black bourgeoisie? These are the same folks who are the most likely to use any and all forms to educate their own kids.

It's fascinating to watch ppl who call themselves progressives, liberals and allies FIGHTING for INCLUSION in a curricula taught in schools by ppl who neither respect us nor our contributions, instead of fighting for us to open our own charter, magnet or private schools.

I’m good w being a square. Weed is a drug and lie to yourself if you want, but the legalization of it is bad for the Black community. Really bad. The same big Tobacco, pharma and the justice system are STILL going to get you.

If you believe there is such a thing as systemic racism AND you acknowledge over 100 years of data confirming that Black children perform poorly in the public school system, THEN wouldn’t your efforts to deny to Blacks be evidence of your support of a racist system?

Just boarded an early morning flight wearing my Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) gear. A seat mate looked at me and asked, “Basketball?” I said, “No. Engineering!” What about me prompted him to think I was playing or coaching basketball? 🤔

Black men in Chicago doing what Black men do. Again, they don’t share posts like this because it doesn’t fit their narrative. And we love you Larenz Tate…and your brothers.
