Mostly what I was saying yall is that if we want these advances to hold we TRULY NEED MORE PEOPLE BUYING BOOKS.

Advances are so important obviously, but why does no one talk about royalties (which you have to earn the advance out to get)?

Sadly the op-ed in question actually says 'there is room for more than one point of view on what CONSTITUTES genocide' which is far worse, bc there is a very plainly written legal definition of the term which folks seem to want to willfully ignore.
