Another cold, breezy and unproductive bird morning at Carsington but I did see a Clouded Silver (nfy). A Burnet Companion on Rose End Meadows yesterday too.

Ethmia quadrillella netted in the garden just now. Annual here in good numbers.

Just 23/13 to the MV in Cromford; Straw Dot and Beautiful Golden Y both nfy, 3 Poplar Hawkmoth, 3 Cinnabar, Shears.

A quick wander on Rose End Meadows (DWT) between the showers; Grass Rivulet 9, Nettle-tap Moth 3, Chrysoteuchia culmella, Pammene aurana 3.

Ran a trap in each garden last night ; about 94/38 in total with several nfy including Shears, Common Wave, Middle-barred Minor and Udea olivalis.

What a stunner! Hardly any records for Derbyshire though 😕

It's been quiet at Carsington but a few waders yesterday. I only saw the Sanderling which was nfy.

Cold and clear here with 6-7C overnight, but a little cloud as darkness fell probably tempted a few moths in (10 of 10). Buff Ermine and Marbled Minor agg nfy.

Another uninspiring moth trap; Treble Lines x5, Spectacle x2 about the only notable moths.

Opinions please folks. Obviously one of Red Twin-spot Carpet/Dark-barred Twin-spot Carpet and not exactly 'box fresh'. I've been aggregating these and haven't currently got time to delve deeper. I know Les Evans-Hill wrote on this recently.

Lower numbers last night with just Sandy Carpet nfy. Swines to photograph so a pot only shot.

A cool, clear night so low numbers for the time of year (not helped by a local Great Tit picking off a few). Pale-shouldered Brocade and Freyer's Pug nfy.
