I'm size 12 for scale. Print is from 19 year we caught today. He was thin (2/5 for fatness) but these big fellows spend more time looking for love than looking for seals in spring. At the end of the ice season, they're keen on seals or risk dying over the ice-free period.

Shonna’s Thaw 🌱 (she/her) I couldn't agree more. Some critters, egrets for example, get nervous about that giant eye looking at them. Herons don't seem to care at all and look at me like I might be lunch.

But if I get any sense my subject is nervous, I back off.

Scammers are everywhere.
Over the course of the last two or three days someone has tried to scam me out of my photographs. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of it. But signs for me were the feeling of urgency, crypto, & a large sum of $. Too good to be true.
