The project is at its research stage where we are gathering information from Museums, Universities and the local communities to document and preserve the knowledge gained for future generations.

The Obama Heritage home will showcase and preserve the Luo socio-cultural values and traditions and offer children and young people an opportunity for learning.

To showcase the results of our research and practical experiments, we aim to finally replica the Obama traditional homestead, as part of the Sauti Kuu Heritage and Culture Program.

The project will ensure we preserve the Luo cultural heritage by integrating, blending and improving on the traditional building methods to offer a modified, sustainable and durable option for building affordable housing using locally available materials.

Through several hands-on workshops with the Sauti Kuu Youth (SKF) and Sauti Kuu Parents (SKP) (the local community), we are experimenting with using different materials and building methods to find out which locally available materials are best suited for building.
