What if European diseases had not decimated Native Americans? What if more populous indigenous peoples had wielded power in ways that prevented continent-wide atrocities? #FrancisSpufford imagines that world in his novel, #cahokiajazz . My review of it ➡️ bit.ly/3Qz1Bgh

The CIJ_ICJ South Africa v Israel case has sparked controversies over #InternationalLaw . How about some #HistoricalFiction where int’l law shapes a tale in which it’s dangerous for lawyers and lovers when civilizations clash? ➡️ A Court at Constantinople, anthonyearth.com

Cloaking the exercise of power in the raiment of “civilization” seems on the rise. I explore this trend, bit.ly/3sYZKbK, & how it differs from the “standard of civilization” that European nations used in the 19th century & that features in my novel. #HistoricalFiction
