Game 1️⃣4️⃣5️⃣: Newmains United 1-3 Royal Albert. I felt Newmains United Community FC had the better of the second half but they couldn't find an equaliser, and when Royal Albert FC notched their third goal with about fifteen minutes to go it was game over.

Pie review: Scotch Pie, Newmains United Community FC. I'm sure I knew they served Bell's pies here, but they never fail to disappoint. Chicken curry versions also on sale. My greatest wish is for football clubs to stop selling these things.

An open game in Newmains. Decent entertainment if lacking finesse. Royal Albert FC took a two goal lead, and have been the better side, but Newmains United Community FC got one back from the spot and have had chances to equalise. More goals expected after the break.

More local fitba action for me tonight as two sides from the nether regions of the West of Scotland Football League 🏴 Fourth Division clash. Newmains United Community FC host Royal Albert FC at Victoria Park. Nice night for a game.

Game 1️⃣4️⃣4️⃣: Hurlford United 0-1 Largs Thistle. A deserved Largs Thistle F.C. win thanks to a goal early in the second half. I felt they were the better side all evening, albeit Hurlford United ⭐ were always in the game - even after going down to ten men.

Pie review: Scotch Pie, Hurlford United ⭐. I didn't enjoy this. The coarsely minced filling itself tasted alright but the whole thing was very dry and was served at a tepid temperature. At least it didn't hit my pocket much.

A goalless first half at Blair Park. Largs Thistle F.C. have dominated without making the breakthrough, but look far more likely. A poor first half from Hurlford United ⭐ with a couple of poorly executed setpieces their best attacking opportunities.

After gallivanting to the continent at the weekend, it's back to more normal entertainment for me tonight - Hurlford United ⭐ at home to Largs Thistle F.C. in the West of Scotland Football League 🏴. Kicked off at 6.30pm as there's no lights at Blair Park.

Some time to spare in Brussels this morning and couldn't think of anything I'd rather do than visit the most beautiful football ground in the world, Stade Joseph Marien, home of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise
Hope to get back for a game some time!
Game 1️⃣4️⃣3️⃣: KV Mechelen 3-2 Westerlo. KV Mechelen back from two goals down to win in the 93rd minute, helped immensely by KVC Westerlo picking up a daft red card. A deserved home win based on the play. Great experience at the stadium.

A departure from the #davesfootballtravels norm today as I take in KV Mechelen v KVC Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League. Mechelen's finest hour was in 1987-88 when they won the Cup Winners Cup, beating St Mirren on the way. 5.15 kick off Scottish time.
Had a look round the outside of King Baudouin Stadium. Very basic set up by modern standards. Reminiscent of Hampden Park in some ways, but definitely more rundown. Proper floodlights though!

Currently in Belgium, and it would have been rude not to take a look at a couple of grounds while doing tourist stuff.
Stumbled upon Petit Heysel, next to the King Baudouin Stadium. Kids training going on, grass park in terrible nick.

Game 1️⃣4️⃣2️⃣: Cumnock Juniors 3-2 Hurlford United. Cumnock Juniors FC ⭐️⭐️⭐️ had most of the second half after trailing 0-2 at the break. They produced one well-worked goal then converted a soft late penalty, then scored an injury time winner. Some finish to the game.

Pie review: Onion Pie, Cumnock Juniors FC ⭐️⭐️⭐️. A distinctly Ayrshire variant tonight, with trademark twin vent lid. I like these. The onion adds tang and depth of flavour in comparison to a standard Scotch Pie. A wee bit crunch in texture too. Good.

Hurlford are on their way to a win down in Cumnock, leading 2-0 at half time. Hurlford United ⭐ scored early, added a second after 35 minutes and have also hit the post. Cumnock Juniors FC ⭐️⭐️⭐️ need the next goal and nearly got one, but for a superb goalline clearance.
