This week's #BattleOfTheBooks is centered around the beauty of nature. We look at the relationship of animals to the moon and the relationship of humans to their beautiful surroundings.

Sitting on the rug with my students is a new experience. Our student teacher is taking the lead and I have a new perspective. Great learning experience for us both.

We are turning our library into a gallery of artivism. All pieces were created with recycled materials and have earned $5 each towards organizations supporting our Extraordinary Earth. Students Rebuild

We created art with recycled bottle caps and/or recycled book pages to raise money and awareness for our Extraordinary Earth Students Rebuild. This project was the culmination of weeks of building background knowledge in our #SibertSmackdown .

As with all things in our library, our thinking needed a book to center it. Our Extraordinary Earth projects began here with thoughts about activism.

Reader Leaders gave the space a mini-makeover. A family donated some ottomans and we had some random items that needed homes. I love that our Stick Together looks like stained glass when the sun shines!

The best part of conferences is spending time with friends old and new. This presentation had its origins a decade ago when we met at a conference. Grateful for the beautiful friendships developed through the years of library-ing.
