Political conversations around the carbon tax are distracting us from the big picture: The government is still subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, which made $70 billion in profits in Canada in 2022. To meet our climate goals, the biggest polluters need to pay their fair share.

Good thing that marine navigation and ship control systems are so reliable that BC doesn't have to worry about dilbit tankers causing problems in Burrard Inlet or LNG tankers in Howe Sound. This situation in Baltimore could not be repeated here.

When the was elected I presented to the BCUC, that isn't clean energy.Vast quantities of methane is given off & the carbon sink of farmland, grass & forest is destroyed & buried under water. Now science proves it. For food security & environment SiteC shouldn't open

Vancouver's average high temperature in March is 10°C and this week's high is forecast to be 17°C. Presaging another difficult summer in BC and a repeat of 2023? Right now Texas is struggling with the biggest wildfire in the state’s history and one of the biggest in U.S. history.

Bennett wanted BC to enjoy low electricity rates for decades. Others thought private companies should benefit, not private citizens. Since 2001, BC Hydro made payments to IPPs of more than $19 billion. Most payments were above market value. The result:

A single methane gas export facility may result in climate-damaging emissions equivalent to millions of automobiles.
While we pay billions of dollars in carbon taxes allegedly designed to reduce emissions, governments spend billions to increase emissions. The policies conflict.
