Nearly 5 years ago I saw cataract surgery for the first time and realized it’s one of the best surgeries in medicine. Now, I recently performed my first full cataract case! Thanks to my mentors who push me to develop my skills 🙏🏻

First day of PGY-4! Looking forward to an exciting and hopefully impactful year serving as Chief Resident of uOttawa Ophthalmology and President of the Council of Canadian Ophthalmology Residents

A highlight of residency thus far was the recent opportunity to travel to Iqaluit and provide ophthalmic care! We were able to do a variety of in-office lasers, injections, and minor procedures. We also got some main OR time to do strabismus and lid based surgeries.

I got to Chair an informative session on cataract surgery for the Young Ophthalmologist with Dr. Haotian Lin (China) at the World Ophthalmology Congress. Thank you to Drs. Jet Rayel (Philippines) and Bhavik Panchal (India) for sharing some great pearls!
