Once again, Defra UK has been asked to allow use of a banned pesticide. When 1 teaspoon of this poison is enough to kill 1.25 million bees, it should be nowhere near our wildlife. Tell the Farming Minister why these pesticides should stay banned. 🐝👉 wtru.st/yes-to-healthy…

The GOV.UK has approved the use of a banned pesticide so powerful a single teaspoon could kill 1.25 billion bees. Farmers should be supported to adopt alternatives that support nature. Ask British Sugar to help farmers sell neonic-free sugar. 👉 wtru.st/back-beet-farm…

"Sewage pumped into River Chess for over 400 hours". The River Chess is supposed to be Thames Water 💧's flagship programme, to prove that a water company can and would do the right thing, to make amends. How's that working out then? watfordobserver.co.uk/news/24192716.…

HUGE NEWS!! This is THE moment Scotland banned snares, licensed grouse moors and muirburn and implemented restrictions on brutal wildlife traps. By doing so, the government has taken a stand against wildlife crime. A huge congratulations to all involved. Feeling quite emotional

Government figures released today confirm that 19,570 more badgers 🦡 were slaughtered in 2023 as part of the government-led cull. This figure takes the total number of protected badgers killed since 2012 under the policy to 230,125. The largest destruction of a protected species

The UK Government has committed again and again to ban sales of peat in England. Prime Minister - why spend public money to restore some peatlands when you still allow others to be dug up? Why not ban peat in composts, as you have promised? It's an easy, necessary, action 💪

Very good meeting with Steve Reed MP Defra UK yesterday. I must say, there was a new, fresh and vibrant energy in the department; palpable just walking through to the meeting room. Goodness, what a difference a week can make.
