I had a really rough 2 years on the market. But bc I'm a white guy I was never prodded about whether I was having kids, never got hit on by a committee member, wasn't asked whether I 'fit the culture' of a campus, didn't have my basic qualifications questioned, etc.

Despite being founded in 0 and doing its main academic work in the 30s-100s, Christianity remained largely uncited and little-noticed until suddenly spiking in 325. Once again, political trendiness mattered more than merit in their adoption.

I am totally doing that thing where you initially intend to just slightly adapt an already published article into a chapter. But then you end up re-reading and heavily revising the article only to end up back at the starting point.
