Thank you IIEA for the opportunity to explain why small-scale producers are worth investing in. They produce 1/3 of the world’s food on 1/10 of the farmland and a lighter footprint on ecosystems. They're the basis for resilient rural communities and the future we want.

Today, Ireland has pledged to double our funding to the International Fund for Agricultural Development, International Fund for Agricultural Development. We will provide €25 million from 2025-7. This will support smallholder farmers in the face of climate change, conflict and economic instability. #InvestInRuralPeople
