Big thanks to Elizabeth Mesok and Isabel Käser for organizing this Swiss Association for Gender Studies (SGGF/SSEG) roundtable. Together with Julia Palmiano Federer Dr Maria Deiana Umut Yildirim & Paniz Musawi Natanzi they made us rethink which feminist concepts help us make sense of the atrocities we’re helplessly witnessing.

I was particularly moved by Dr Maria Deiana who reminded us of the feminist ethos to always look for humanity, how she does this by paying attention to forms of art in conflict and who admitted that she needed „cruel optimism“ to deal with the WPS agenda. An honour to have her!

Dr Maria Deiana And I truly loved Umut Yildirim‘s idea of feminist political love (I hope I’m conveying it right) which entails to forge coalitions all while acknowledging the incommensurable differences between our different experiences
