Carl Dycer We stayed about 8 miles east of Colmar but never noticed the museum you went to ☹️ we did though visit Memorial de la Ligne Maginot du Rhin and Audie Murphy memorial. What a great region for history

Carl Dycer If you make it over to Lorraine, my wife's gt. uncle is commemorated as one of the civilians massacred at Gerbéviller. On the memorial, he's described as having been murdered, others were 'brûlé vif', burnt alive. His name was André Chatton. It's an interesting example of a...

Carl Dycer Couin British & New British Cems have both individual 'name' stones & a 'combined' stone. 766 burials in all (incl 5 Germans), & of course the very unusual twin crosses. But they don't conform to Sir Reginald Blomfield's original design in a significant way - what's 'missing'😟

Nod of thanks to Commonwealth War Graves for altering the surname. Much appreciated. Now the three Buttery brothers at Ypres can rest easy. My wife and I are pleased and her aunty will be very happy indeed. Cheers to our mate Rick Smith🇺🇦 for visiting all three brothers.

Carl Dycer ABMC I've not visited that particular Cemetery, but I have been to the Lorraine American Military Cemetery and Memorial, just outside St Avold with over 11,000 graves.

Carl Dycer HWK isn't really my thing, but it's worth bearing in mind that in the Vosges 1m of snow on top isn't unlikely. I have cards from men elsewhere in the Vosges which mention this. (My glass slide. Labelled Vosges Boyau)
