One thing I always do when qualitative interviewing is to be okay with sitting in silence. 🤐 When I ask a question and my participant responds: I give them the freedom to run with it. 🔑 No interruption and if they pause, give them time to think - you get great responses! 🗣️

Today I'll be presenting my 1st year PhD presentation to the Cambridge University Department of Public Health and Primary Care group! I'll be showcasing the important work I have done as part of the #CanRisk team and outline my key plans as I go into my 2nd and 3rd year. Exciting! 😁

Delighted to be have got to stay on the tarmac of an easyJet flight in Amsterdam for the past 4hrs with no end in sight after having to pay €58 for checking-in my bag that was no issue on the outbound flight. ✈️ Really nice way to end my holiday! 🥳

I haven't made as much PhD progress the past week than I would've liked (anxiety = mean)! 😞 For now I'm celebrating small wins. Writing a section, conducting an interview, reflecting on progress. Celebrating smalls tasks seems silly, but really helps me get back on track! 🥳

Much happier with the progress I've made with my PhD this week! 😁 Been conducting more interviews for my study, and writing my 1st year report. 🎙️ I had hoped to have completed the 1st draft of my first main section last week, but am happy with what I am producing! 😊
