Looking forward to my 2nd year at University of Iowa. This time around I'll be serving as a Assist Prof of Instruction in the Sport Media and Culture program. Feelin quite proud and privileged as the first full-time faculty member to be hired of this particular (and pretty awesome) program.

First day of Fall '24 semester fit = a power suit 🧡💙 (obvs). Excited for a new semester (without crutches and/or a boot) in my second year at University of Iowa. Lovely to see familiar faces in and outside the classroom and meet new ones.

I was scared shitless to present this side of my sports career at #NASSS2024 but felt validated by wonderful scholars and thinkers in the room. This story of mine and the telling of it through qualitative inquiry reflects larger efforts to make sport better for women athletes.

Big shout out to Dr Dr. Allison Smith Dr. Tiesha Martin and Dr Dr. Aquasia Shaw for taking the lead on our presentation at #NASSS2024Chicago focusing on gender bias and women sport faculty. I'm excited to continue developing this research with such esteemed and bad ass colleagues 💙

During my second class of the day, I scan the room and not one student is looking up/making eye contact with me/at PowerPoint screen. It's like I'm talking to a wall; kinda broke my heart ☹ I get it though - everybody's checked out and ready for Fall/Thanksgiving #break

Final grades in. Departmental obligations done. Another semester of struggling, growing, connecting, and learning in the books. Now to finally enjoy some time at home with this guy 💙
