As promised 4 of 30 portraits I made on my large format camera as part of my iPorter project 10 yrs ago in Everest region. I'd love to be able to show these images somewhere again & perhaps do a project revisit - but I'm not up for being a porter again!

The Legend that is Guillemot the springer has just turned 14 and we thought that X doesn't quite show enough awesome in these challenging times, so here he is, looking awesome.

Still always up for a walk he is the silent partner in our business. Guilly, we salute you 🙌

Ten yrs ago I (Rob) went to Nepal to work as a porter on the Everest Trail. I wanted to find out more about their lives & how tough it might be (very).
I made a film of the experience and made portraits on my large format camera. I'll post some portraits in coming days

Very much looking forward to running this and meeting other artists/arts organisations who are entangled in/with the pressing climate and biodiversity emergency.

With all the Big Stuff happening at the moment sometimes it's worth looking down at the little (amazing!) stuff that goes on. Last week we came across this colony of wood ants in Horner Wood
I'm sure folk have studied them so wondered why they were so active?

Thought that we would get involved with for the first time with this old, pollarded oak seen last week in the woods above Porlock in in Hawkcombe NNR. This was the biggest of many such awesome trees.

Just in case your day needed a singing robin, well, one popped up to perform for us yesterday. There were a few around in all trying to sonically rise above the white-water clamour and doing an excellent job.

I (Rob) am not sure that X is the space for happy pics any more, but I don't care. 12 years ago we got married on the shores of Wastwater and each and every day I count my blessings.

A teaser of an exciting project we are about to launch after a few months of pulling all the strands together. The start of a resonance of trees, people, conversations and land use change.

We will be sharing more news soon. 🌳

On we fondly remember an ongoing project on Bolton Fell Moss, nothern Cumbria. A collaboration between artists, scientists, conservationists, the local community & the awesome 480 hectares of being-restored bog.

We are back soon to continue the conversation.

Rob is testing a new camera that he's keen to use on a future project. 'New' is prob wrong as what you see here is a beautifully engineered pinhole camera (👏 Martin Lucas) that will hold 15x12 inch sheets of ILFORD PHOTO real film
Sometimes you just need to go back to 'simple'
