The anniversary will be marked by a service in Bury Parish Church at 11.30am on Sunday 28 April followed by a parade from the church to Gallipoli Gardens and the Fusiliers Museum from 1pm.

The landings came at heavy loss of life and the eight month campaign was one of the costliest of the war.

Gallipoli Day marks the day when a number of landings took place during the First World War.

Soldiers from the Lancashire Fusiliers took part in the landings on the Gallipoli Peninsula, in what is now modern-day Turkey, to try to force the Ottoman Empire out of the war.

I visited Millwood Primary Special School, Radcliffe & met the school council, who asked great questions. I visited each class to meet all the pupils & see the work they were doing. An excellent school with outstanding facilities & staff. More details: millwoodschool.co.uk

I visited IncredibleEdibleRadcliffe 🌱 who’re growing fruit/veg/salad/herbs & flowers next to Outwood nature trail, Radcliffe. It’s open to volunteers who want to help & open to the public who want to pick & take away. I planted a cherry tree with the team who are doing a great job.
