Poor quality air kills a lot more people than I think is generally understood. It also leads to other disabilities such as huge increases in asthma.

Cleaner air benefits everyone, and it’s difficult to ration it by how much individuals can pay - which is why we can’t have it.

Like, if there is one cultural constant across all known human societies it's eating and drinking together to socialise. That unmitigated spread and refusal to clean the air is forcing people to choose between that and their safety is a crime we can't mitigate around.

The drumbeat of telling high risk and disabled people both “just stay home” and “how dare you stay home” is headed in a very ugly direction, because both really mean “you don’t deserve to exist.”
