It's hard to overstate the importance of #links in Sir @TimBerners_Lee's original vision for the #WorldWideWeb - because it is by cross referencing information and linking related #web sites and #web pages together that the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts!

Back in the early days of the #web a wide range of #searchengines and directories were in common use, and no one single company or organisation held any kind of dominant position in controlling access to information..

It's #baffling to me that some online marketeers only seem to think about #links in terms of boosting search engine #rankings - but not about the #website traffic they can (and should) directly refer!

As regular followers will know, I'm a big advocate of #linkbuilding - because it's the #links which connect everything together and which make the #WorldWideWeb a ' #web '! #justsaying ..

Remember that #linkbuilding shouldn't be about trying to manipulate search engine #rankings . It should be about building a #web which is interconnected, #decentralised and thereby independent from #corporate control - in keeping with the original ethos of the medium!
