John McWorryWhorter wonders 'What if these protests were opposed to civil and human rights?' Would we feel differently about them? Much to consider from one of America's leading men of letters.

shockingly it turns out university leadership isn't dominated by woke neomarxists but by system bootlicker fascists

So to review: a protester accidentally poked a right-wing provocateur in the face with the spherical tip of a small flagpole, resulting in no injury, and multiple media outlets reported it as a Jew being stabbed in the eye.

Meanwhile tens of thousands of Palestinians are dead.

A new report by Brett Murphy in @ProPublica reveals that multiple Israeli military and police units should have been disqualified from U.S. aid in December over serious human rights abuses including rape and torture. No action has been taken since the recommendation was made.

Elite media reporters only care to cover Ivy league schools, but disgust with Israel's 'plausible' genocide is broadly felt.

If these kid are expelled, do they also get a refund? Or is that reserved for the Billionaire parents of Columbia kids who are mad that the pro-Israel administration *chose* to go remote learning?

I had to scroll past *four* college campus stories, including two protest-critical opeds (John McWhorter & Bret Stephens) before I got to the much delayed coverage of hundreds of Palestinians found in mass graves.

the fact that the 40 beheaded babies lie received global news coverage for days on end, while the mass graves of handcuffed people in hospital grounds has received next to nothing, should teach you a very important lesson.

I know this is being normalized extremely quickly, but let’s take a step back, put political analysis aside, and think about how insane this is. Students across the country are being arrested by actual police for sitting on the lawns of their universities with tents and signs.

How are news outlets dedicating wall-to-wall coverage to campus protests, but not the discovery of mass graves in Gaza of people with their hands tied & clothing stripped?

Why do we not know more?

Where are the journalists and resources being dedicated to that story?

sharing this because of the dialogue about who is 'safe' at Columbia: many white people in + around campus have been completely racist towards Black students and staff, especially those who wear keffiyehs. Calling students monkeys, saying they (we) can't read, find Gaza on a map

The best thing about this ridiculous tweet calling on the police to arrest peaceful academics exercising their free speech and assembly rights is that the author of it is a staff writer for The Atlantic, which has long been obsessed with free speech issues, especially on campus.

I'd love to talk to someone on Bad Faith who is an expert on university endowment investments and divestment campaigns, donor politics etc.
