This is completely false! The main reason why there is a shortage is because of the lack of pay. Some assignors were paying the same rate for several years. This coincides with the labor shortage in our nation! The shortage of umpires has nothing to do with the parents.

Dear Travel Softball Teams, please don’t allow dads to Coach unless they truly know what the hell they are doing. Better yet, just pay the moms or young twenty something’s that have a passion for the game and Coach it the right way.
