Happy Star Wars Day with this incredible Indigenous representation of Darth Vader’s helmet by artist Álvaro Ortiz López-Pu that I saw at a museum in Oklahoma City!

Awesome of President Biden to posthumously award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Jim Thorpe of the Sac and Fox Nation! He was the greatest athlete to ever live and overcame racism and everything else to personify Native American excellence!

Listening to a story about Deb Haaland with my mom and they mentioned how she got elected to Congress with Sharice Davids and my mom recalled how Sharice called me when she was running and I asked her if she’d talk to my mom and she did—so cool of Sharice and my mom never forgot!

My peoples’ word for this month of the year is Mé’p’ahága which translates from the Ponca language as “The Time When The Summer Begins.” It’s true most Native American languages are in a bad spot, but important to remember all the people working to preserve them! Happy May all!

The biggest problem facing Native Americans in the U.S. today is being invisible as members of modern society. Because Indigenous history has been whitewashed out of U.S. history in schools, we are largely seen as a historical people. Need to fix that!

I once walked into city court and saw a homeless man in shackles called to the bench to face the charge of allegedly stealing $1.61 from QuikTrip (the price of a drink). That happens here daily off national news. Nobody cares. Until that matters, I can feel nothing for these guys

Native Americans are still here and deserve to be in the public attention more times than twice a year in a historical context on Columbus Day and Thanksgiving! Land theft is the oldest ongoing injustice nobody thinks is a problem anymore

Good for Turks and Caicos. The other day, the Oklahoma man was arrested for breaking their laws. Today, another American from Virginia was arrested for the same. I don’t feel sorry for them. When you go abroad, respect their zero tolerance gun/ammo laws!

The best thing I have ever used my legal skills for is getting Harvard to return my Ponca ancestor Standing Bear’s tomahawk back into the hands of the tribe. He was the first Native American to win civil rights and now future Ponca kids can see a real part of him first hand!

The U.S. government stole all that land from Native Americans for people like this. It is the biggest injustice of all time if you ask me.

Good for Turks and Caicos. They passed laws they think are best for them and that means they really dont want guns and ammo in their nation. They’re clearly sick of foreigners bringing it in. It’s their fault for not knowing their laws before going abroad

I think this is a neat picture I took of one of my tribe’s buildings with the natural spotlight effects and the shadows
