Senior management teams have lead HE into this mess with their support for marketisation, defunding staff, increasing workloads etc
Staff are paying the price for these failures, while HE bosses want to increase the pressures on student by putting up fees

Solidarity to our comrades at Northumbria, and all those branches facing attacks. Despite the common line we are hearing from VCs that it is the sector not them, these attacks are fundamentally due utter failure of senior managers over years.

🚨 Northumbria University bosses are threatening compulsory redundancies, punishing staff for the incompetence of senior management.

We won't stand for it. Our branch have declared a dispute and are prepared to take action if necessary ✊

The fall in the USS contribution rates is a huge win for staff - it was UCU members that obtained this.
