Alan Pearce Alan - you are a professional in the Neuro field. Can you point me to the research which clearly links Paraquat to Parkinson’s Disease. These farmers would have been exposed to a huge range of substances with poor HSE/PPE compared to today’s standards. Evidence please 🙏

Long term research in farming systems critical to inform what are the most profitable and sustainable options for growers. Very pleased to see this program extended and the link to paddock scale trials. Keep up the great work team. Very proud of you all. 👏👏

There's been considerable interest in ABC’s reporting of an alleged link between AgChem paraquat & Parkinson’s. Anyone following this story or with an interest in the topic we encourage you to read this clarification released by the independent regulator apvma.gov.au/news-and-publi…”

Wide spread frost for parts of our wheat belt in SA, Vic and NSW. If you need to refresh on your frost ID GRDC and NSW Agronomy put this you tube video together that is particularly helpful. youtube.com/watch?v=YeOlZN…

Key thing to look for with frost in canola at the later flowering stages is seeds that are sunken and going brown. Symptoms can be seen fairly quickly. Damage and yield loss is not a 1:1 relationship. Overall canola is fairly tolerant but temps <-3 start to hurt.

1st October farming systems field walk at iandra, then farming systems field walk at our place showing one of the diverse farm extension sites. Showing wheat and canola after fabas high low N strategies and probably some frost talk 🤣 see you there.

I’m interested in experienced southerners thoughts on salvaging frosted lentils. These pics are best and worst of it, I’d guess at best ~300kg if we get a rain. Assume wrinkled grain an issue also. Lots of pds in this scenario. Sprayout vs hay vs run with it. Hit me!

Speaking at the GRDC NSW DPI Lentil trial at Methul. Frost damage to unlimed plots but the plus limed plots are more resilient to the frost. Stronger, less stressed plants seemed to handle the freeze better. NSW Agronomy, Gulbali Institute, Charles Sturt University
