No decision yet from Legacy on who will drive the No. 43 this weekend. The change to the entry list allows the team to have the better qualifying metric score that goes with Corey Heim. If they do switch to Erik Jones, then Jones will have to go out first in qualifying group.

Second thoughts on news of the week: It's just practice, but Kevin Harvick isn't done driving just yet (he is still retired from actually racing a Cup car) FOX: NASCAR foxsports.com/stories/nascar…

Jimmie Johnson already is entered for Kansas so Johnson will race the 84. Johnson said last week he hadn't thought much past Kansas because they didn't know what Jones' status would be.

They announced it on Tuesday last week because he had a doctors visit Tuesday and the doctor made the decision that day. My guess is wanted to wait a little longer into this week before getting another scan to see how it is healing.

No decision yet announced on Jones or Heim in No. 43 this weekend. Haulers don't park until Saturday morning so haven't left for track yet. And my guess is not a huge change to any interior/wheel position/pedals whether Heim or Jones so likely could handle at-track if needed.

I take into consideration getting caught up in accidents not of own doing. Bell was top-seven in the first stage of two of the last three races. And also qualified in top-10 in two of the last three races.

From yesterday: NASCAR Power Rankings: Kyle Larson unseats William Byron at the top and a look at how these drivers have performed at 1.5-mile tracks and what I want to see at next couple of intermediates. FOX: NASCAR foxsports.com/stories/nascar…

My guess is that with it being a unique short track with limited applicability to other tracks and $$ for it not great if you don't win -- especially for a non-chartered car -- they opted to spend their sponsor $$ at other events that could help SVG more.

SVG is eligible to be in the all-star race. He won a race in 2023-24. You don't have to be full time to get in that way. They just aren't entering him. AJ Allmendinger, who also won a Cup race in 2023, is going to be in the Kaulig 16.

This is something I’ve wanted to do my entire career and so thankful Stewart-Haas Racing and Mahindra Ag North America allowed me to do it. My personal favorite is having every name that has ever driven for Briscoe Racing since the start in 1976 on the hood. Over 500 wins and 14 National Sprint…
