...and the topical 'grime' is dry brushed Testor's paints of various colors, flat black, rubber, rust, etc.

The process goes: spray a coat, let it fully cure, then paint on 'damage' where I want it with liquid latex. Let dry. Spray the next color, and so on...in the end, you can pick off the areas with liquid latex to reveal the colors underneath and create actual chipped paint.
