Consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in March and were up 3.5 percent from a year earlier. “Core” prices (excluding food and fuel) were up 0.4 percent from February and 3.8 percent from March 2022.

Julia Coronado Ben Casselman BLS-Labor Statistics Final quote from Omair best sums it up. They are overwhelmed. The employee created a list to handle those with the highest volume of questions where topics intersected. Doesn't make it right, but seems like this story is hugely overblown.

Ben Casselman This is frustrating. You make this out to be some scandal when the truth is that some people are just more interested in deep details & the BLS-Labor Statistics was just being helpful & transparent. If you peppered them w/ questions you got answers which is what public service is about!
