MAY 30 1966 - PAPERBACK WRITER / RAIN single is released in Canada and reinforces The Beatles' PSYCHEDELIC period. (Mostly) Paul's song on A-side, with John's FAB psychedelic RAIN relegated to B-side. Bought a copy (no picture sleeve tho) within days of hearing it. ❤️ 💙

I get it. Sometimes things look nicer in a rear view mirror. Context of its 1970 release is long (and maybe best) forgotten. When Canadian fans saw the film in 1970, some like me, left halfway through. The breakup was fresh/raw. Fans were sad. Await May 8 verdicts ? ❤️💙

AUG 1966 - Was it LOVE YOU TOO ... or LOVE YOU TO ? And was it TAX MAN ... or was it TAXMAN ? And was it 'REVOLVER' or REVOLVER ? Depending on which version you bought, a few Canadian Beatles fans in 1966 (like myself), may have been confused by the record labels ! ❤️ 💙

Montreal's FAB EXPO 67 opened on this day in 1967 !
I was not there on opening day - my first visit to Expo 67 was on MAY 1 1967 - just 4 days later. I remember it was sunny but with an icy winter chill in the wind, whipping straight off the Saint Lawrence River ! ❤️ 💙

NOV 14-15 1965 - DYLAN plays 2 nights Massey Hall Toronto. RUBBER SOUL LP, overly influenced by FOLK DYLAN, is released by Capitol CANADA only 24 days later on DEC 9 1965. Different tracks to UK LP, but 🇨🇦 format Rubber Soul LP was huge leap in Beatles' EVOLUTION ! ❤️ 💙

A decade or so later, #TheBeatles started their record run of 6 FAB indoor concerts at Maple Leaf Gardens; 1964 through 1966 (2 concerts each year). A stage was set up at the north end. Beatles concerts were off season - no ice. Wooden chairs sold as 'floor seats'. ❤️ 💙
