In case you haven’t heard: Women are suing Pfizer in a class action lawsuit because the birth control shots (Depo-Provera) have been found to cause brain tumors. 1 in 4 women use this birth control. And Black women are prescribed it at double the national rate.

Well, if the plan is to reduce Lagos to Ede or Igbeti, that’s okay. In the end, leadership will always reflect population dynamics. From indigenes, to non-indigenous Yoruba to whatever the future holds, it’s democracy at play. What I don’t subscribe to is hate and disrespect.

Hi. I'm one of the Black women with a tumor from this. ✋🏾 7yrs ago they prescribed it for severe menstrual cramping. I wasn't planning for children and I wanted the pain to stop, so I took it every 3 months. Tumor is benign, but it's given me other *inconvenient* issues.

Obi and Obidients really dropped the ball after the relative success of 2027. Obi didn’t show leadership to the elected Legislators. No Legislative agenda, no meeting. No LP caucus, they have almost all ended up in APC without doing/achieving anything different because of the

The worst part is that despite having several elected politicians, they still left twitter influencers as their major political voices. No Senator/Rep/Governor ever stood up for anything meaningful. Still have to deal with Sarah, Morris and co.

I have read horrible side effects about Depo Provera since 2017. 8 yrs later, it’s still being marketed everywhere in Nigeria and even promoted in FP programs, especially to women in low-income areas.

2022 was the first time I experienced the effect of the criminalization of abortion. Since then, it has been a sore point for me. I finally get to write about it in this piece for Social Voices. Read the story here 👇: socialvoices.org/behind-the-cur…
