Made a little demo to show the capabilities of the Gopher Badge by conejo 🐇🐰🤖 @[email protected]. It is running at 30fps!
Note: there is some weird pixelation in the video. That is only visible in the video, it looks much more smooth in real life.

Basically, it complies the code to WebAssembly (with the appropriate Go build tag set) and runs it in a web worker. This provides full isolation without emulation overhead.

I've updated the Visual Studio Code TinyGo extension to include support for running code like on play.tinygo.org! Just click the preview button after selecting a supported board in the status bar.

This is so cool! I hope it will be included in the VS Codes extension for TinyGo.

Because TinyGo does some things differently, it can reduce CGo call overhead a lot. Sometimes down to zero! Read more in my new blog post:

Just managed to debug an issue that happens only sometimes on hardware programmed using TinyGo. In short: it happened, I built a binary like was already on the device, attached GDB, and read the backtrace. Cause: a nil pointer panic resulting from a race condition🤦

Because this question has come up a few times, I've written a blog post about the int type in various programming languages.
