Bees flying onto some dry pollen yesterday, surprised how much they'd taken in a couple of hours. Just a handful left and put a good pile down before looking at a couple of out Apiaries. Some good lay going on in the few I peeked in.👍

Today's has been mostly digging out and replacing rotten fence posts. Slow going and a thankless task. If these last as long as the old posts I'll be 70 so think someone else might be doing it next time. Another 3 to do, they'll have to get done another day.

Worth a watch, spent half an hour watching massive EVs trying to get up a snowy hill in Sheffield. I flew up in a VW transporter as I'd had the sense to fit snow tyres. I could go on.😳😬

Out checking on 84, my main wintering yard. Probably half a dozen looking a bit dodgy, the rest look good. Odd one had a baggy feeder dropped in there. The bee equivalent of a nice warm cuppa.😜

Bees flying the other day 12 degrees in December. Good to see them flying, very much a smell of bee 💩 in the air. The mog now needs a wash.🤨

Interesting that the honey packers and DEFRA seem against better honey labelling. If they hadn't anything to hide surely they'd embrace the change. Obviously they've something to hide. Best to always buy local.

Bees back off the heather. Real mixed bag. Recon average will be in the single figures. Already looking forward for a better season next year.🫣

Today has mostly been preparing winter sites for the bees. Should get them all back off the moor over the next 2 weeks. The fields to the right have buckwheat flowing in them. Although think these still full from the borage.

Been away for a few days diving. Back tomorrow and still plenty of beekeeping to do to the end of the season. Bees back off the heather as soon as I'm back.

Looking like the apples on one of my trees aren't going to amount to much. Yes they really are that small. Slightly bigger on the other tree but definitely not going to be a bumper year.😳🤨
