It's time to talk about one of my favorite visual effects shots of all time. Not only is the shot well-executed & designed, it fits perfectly within the edit and plays an important storytelling role. It's the last shot of this sequence from 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom'.

A testament to the work, to this day some vfx professionals are still a bit confused as to how Davy Jones was created for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' (2006).

Davy Jones and his crew, from head to toe--including costumes and eyes--are 100% computer graphics.

@halhickel I could have sworn I've talked about another aspect of Davy Jones here, but apparently I haven't! So here goes.

One of the reasons why Davy Jones was so successful was was *what he sounded like*. As in, he sounded like he, simply, was in the same space as the other actors.
