Even more distracting than cell phones in classrooms is the Saskatchewan Party's feeble attempt to distract from education underfunding. If they really cared about kids learning, they would have agreed to negotiate on class complexity. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyone been in the system long enough to know when Child and Youth Services started having 18+ month waiting lists? This is totally unacceptable. Many people can't afford to go private for much needed support for their children. Feels like this is the new norm and it's not okay.

So apparently the Saskparty is asking their base about whether or not they think cell phones should be restricted in schools after lobbing it out there. Spoiler: They already are but some kids actually need them. Governing through chaos and populism. Sounds about right. 🙄

Over the last 10 yrs, we have 15K more students and only 10 more teachers… Yes, we need capital investment for renovated or new schools. But, we need operating budget increases above enrolment and inflation rates for there to be a real investment in students and education.

I thought this was written about Saskatchewan until I noticed the $32 billion dollar surplus. Make no mistake, Saskatchewan and Alberta are using this👇🏻playbook to defund our schools and fill them with non-certified unregulated people to “teach” our children.

Yes, there is money for education. It's about priorities. It's always been about priorities.

Now that a troubled 14 yo girl started a 15 year old girl on FIRE at Evan Hardy, maybe the Premier and the Minister of Ed will take “classroom complexity” seriously. A teacher was injured and the 15 yo is in hospital. This shit should not be happening in our schools.

Evan Bray's sourcessay 14yo girl in custody was flagged violent, assessed multiple times by school. Subsequent action was inadequate. So let's be clear: teachers/admin had already done everything they could have for those kids. They needed more resources. They didn't have them.
