These super 2nd grade scientists are learning about safety! They made observations and practiced safely wafting to smell 3 liquids, revealing their unique differences despite their similar appearance. Way to gear up for safe science, Mrs. Moore!

Through activities such as constructing a cup pyramid without touching cups or talking, Mrs. Windham’s students have focused on improving teamwork and non-verbal communication skills, and they have explored properties of matter like solubility, electric conductivity, and volume.

Students examined the Law of Conservation of Mass by measuring the mass of a whole Oreo, breaking it into two pieces, and determining the mass of each piece. They, then, compared the sum of the masses of the two pieces to the original mass of the Oreo and provided an explanation.
