i’m an organizer with CU Apartheid Divest Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine, in my 3 years at Barnard College i have never been reprimanded or received any disciplinary warnings

i just received notice that i am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide.

I don't want to hear a word of opposition to academic boycott ever again.

Police overreactions are a sign of weakness. Congressional hearings for college protests are a sign of weakness. The ruling class is afraid of the rising consciousness of the masses. They know this is all held together by our submission. Solidarity with the Columbia students.

columbia students have literally been sprayed with chemical weapons, arrested, charged, evicted, suspended, and threatened with almost every other kind of discipline and retaliation by a highly punitive/hostile institution....this escalation is so brave!

Why are the participants of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition risking their lives to bring aid to Gaza? Because our governments have supported intentional starvation as a form of collective punishment. Because the media wants you to look away. Because the world has failed the Palestinian people

And so, not recognizing that Arab/Palestinian/Muslim students are systematically, discursively & institutionally experiencing demonization, hatred and threats to their safety is a purposeful & calculated neglect in defense of support for the genocide of Palestinians.

One of the key ways the ‘Antisemitism on Campus’ discourse has developed is through the categorization of “Pro-Palestinian students” vs “Jewish students”.

Muslim/Arab students are made to occupy a politic vs pro-Israel Jewish students who are made to only occupy identity.

I'm deeply saddened. Three days ago, I shared the link to help evacuate Zain from Gaza, only to receive the heartbreaking news today that he was killed when an airdrop aid fell on him.

I've been thinking a lot about this, both as a current 4L law student (graduating in a month!) and also as someone who wants to join the legal academy one day. When I saw the video, I immediately thought two things: 🧵

They killed all our loved ones. They destroyed all our homes. They made Gaza uninhabitable. More than 100,000 Gazans are dead, injured and suffering. The world remained silent.
