Wow? After the no call on the offensive foul? ….

So today I learned that Vocalo Radio 91.1 will cease radio broadcast on May 1st. I was there before it had a name. 17 years. Ayana Contreras was my gift to the city. #vocalo (which I ran for years) was my love letter. A cheerleader for our rich arts music + culture. I hope you all felt it.

I have to sit with this for a minute.
I spent nearly ten years making radio and podcasts at Vocalo Radio 91.1 and WBEZ.
I made my career there and now just…poof.
This is a HUGE loss for Chicago and for me and my people personally.

I am stunned.
